These are real nifty little devices. A combination navigation tool combining a small liquid filled button compass and a map measuring wheel for rolling along your map. As the wheel rolls over the map a needle rotates over a dual scale graduated
dial that directly reads out the distance. Great for the measurement an indirect route or road, just follow the trail with the wheel.
